100 word writing challenge #44

Seamore the Seal

I am Seamore the seal, I was swimming peacefully when these humans invaded. I had an brilliant idea, I’d hide behind a huge rock. The humans walked passed I whacked them with my tail. They fell, they all started to fall over each other. I rolled to the shore, I watched quietly as they fell. I laughed uncontrollably. They looked at me, they must have thought I was dying, they ran away. I kept laughing and went back into the ocean. I told everyone about it, we all laughed. Those humans will never come here again we all hoped.

  1. 1. Dear Heather, first of all, your blog post made me laugh. It also reminds us that many humans think we can treat the environment and animals any way we like.

    2. The name Seamore interested me. It's a great name for a seal that swims in the sea! At first I thought it was a pun on the name Seymour. You inspired me to google it and I discovered that either spelling can be used as a boy's name.

    3. What other words can you think of that relate to fall/fell?

I found your blog post via https://100wc.net/week44/

  2. Hello Heather,

What a cheeky seal! I agree with Andrew, the thought of a seal playing such a trick on intruding humans made me laugh.

Your story reminded me of a young seal I surprised earlier this year when alone on a beach in a national park and came upon it sleeping on the rocks. I made a noise to see it was okay. It looked up, howled in fright and dove into the sea. How different it would have been if it were like Seamore.

With your creative imagination, I hope you can keep entering the 100WC.
