  3. Hey there Makaea, my name is Billy and I am from the Summer Learning Journey programme. It's great to see that you are working hard and blogging throughout your summer.

Thanks for sharing this recipe for a cake. Is this your favourite cake?

What sort of sweet food did you have on Christmas Day? I had trifle, strawberries, ice cream, chocolate and lots of other treats. I think I ate too much though because I fell asleep on the couch.

    Thanks, Billy

  4. Hey Makaea,

I wish you a happy new year from the bottom of my heart :)

Thank you for sharing yummy Red Velvet Cake recipe with everyone. I could instantly tell that this is a recipe red velvet cake because of the 30ml red colouring. I would love to try this recipe out and make some yummy red velvet cupcakes with white chocolate cream cheese. YUMMMM!

Like Billy, I also had a lot of sweets (especially chocolates) during the Christmas week and I just couldn't resist eating them. Like I mentioned before, I love chocolates and I need to have one a day to keep myself active. My sister likes jelly and once she bought 10 packets of Haribo gummy bears and she ate them all.

I look forward to hear back from you and reading more of your activity blogs!
    Have a great day,

    Jade C.

  5. Kia Ora Makaea,

I’m Dani, a member of the Summer Learning Journey team. I normally comment on blogs in the Kaikohekohe cluster ( Northland) but I have been lucky enough to get the chance to visit some blogs in the Uru Manuka cluster!

Yum! That looks like a Red Velvet Cake recipe. That is my best friend’s favourite cake. When she is stressed out with her university course, I often make her some baking to make her smile. Who doesn’t love baking? I will have to try your recipe next time! Do you get the chance to do much baking at home? For Christmas, my sister and I had to make all of the desserts. It was great, we made sure we taste tested everything! We did feel a bit sick afterwards though.

Keep up the great work. I look forward to reading more of your blogs soon!

    -Dani
