Summer Learning Journey Week Two The Right to Vote
I think it is unfair how women where not allowed to vote. Did men under underestimate women at the time. I'm happy that now women are allowed to vote because that means I can vote when I'm older. I'm also happy that women's voices can be heard. I give Kate Shepard a huge thanks for getting women to vote.

To support my learning I ask you to comment as follows:
1. Something positive - something you like about what I have shared.
2. Thoughtful - A sentence to let us know you actually read/watched or listened to what I had to say
3. Something thoughtful - how have you connected with my learning? Give me some ideas for next time or ask me a question.

Kia Ora Makaeah,
ReplyDeleteIt's finally the school holidays! Do you have any plans for the Christmas? I am going to go to church in the morning and my family and I will be going to Waiheke to surf if the weather is sunny and nice. How about you? I'm sure you will have lots of nice food and treats to fill your tummy :)
First of all, I completely agree with your first sentence, it was very unfair for women as they were not allowed to vote until the early 1900s. Also there were other laws and restrictions for women that made their lives very unfair and hard. However, nowadays laws have been amended and new laws were added to support women's rights. Countries like New Zealand, Australia, America, United Kingdom, and many more countries allow women to vote. However, there are still few countries that restrict women's voting rights. Saudi Arabia was one of them until 2015! What do you think about this? There are also other countries like North Korea that do not allow their people to vote at all! This is called dictatorship. Do you know anything about North Korea? or Dictatorship?
I really like reading your blog posts, I am looking forward to reading more of your work!
Best wishes,
Jade C.
