10 Visual Arts - Street Art

10 Visual Arts - Street Art

In art today we had to look for a piece of street art that we found cool and interesting. I chose this art work by Fin Dac. The piece is to show a Kaitiaki (guardian) to protect the area after the earthquakes. She is holding a Ruru bird that is a sign of warning in Maori Culture. The other bird is a Kingfisher that is found in Christchurch. I chose this piece because of the colours and cultural significance.

10 Art - Michael Mew Art

In art we have been looking at collage art specifically made by Michael Mew.

45 Michael Mew ideas | collage art, mixed media art journaling, art inspiration

We first started cutting out and arranging different things from magazines.

Until I came up with an arrangement that I liked.

I then came up with thumbnail sketches to come up with different framing to draw.

This is my finished product. Over the arrangement I put a yellow line with the word caution on it. I did this to make it look like caution tape. The leading lines are the man and the women standing together; this is emphasize by the phone and the caution tape. It is made to make the eye look at the yellow then look up to the people.

Photography - Rule of thirds

In Art we have been learning about rule of thirds. How a image is divided into a three by three grid. With the focal point of the photo being where the lines of the grid intersect.

These are sketches I drew when practising how to do rule of thirds.

This is my redraw of a photo using rule of thirds. Each focal point of the image is where the lines of the grid intersect.

Visual Arts - Photo Montage

Visual Arts - Photo Montage

This term in Visual Arts we are looking at photo montage. I have made my own photo montage

Reflection: I think overall I did a decent job with my photo montage. But I think I could of done better. Because photo montages usually combined other things together to make an overall image. While I just put images of the same thing on top of something else.

Question: How do you think I could improve this photo montage.

1. What is stop motion?
Stop motion is a form of film. Were you take pictures for every movement the your characters make.

My end outcome is to have a good stop motion. Also that my stop motion will be creative and fun.

3. What have you done so far to get there?
I have written a script and a story board showing how the story is going to go.

4. What do you still need to do?
I still need to write more of the story and start making the film. Also careering on with the script and images.

5. Brief outline of your story.
Two baby boys were born on the same day. Their names were Peffy and Pedro. Their mums were best friends. Growing up Peffy and Pedro  were also best friends. Peffy was active and Pedro was a couch potato. Pedro wanted the new game but didn't get it. On their birthday Peffy got the new video game. Pedro wanted it, the next week on their way to school. Peffy said he gave the game to his cousin. This made Pedro sad and hated video game. A few years later Peffy opened a camp and gave Pedro a job. The kids that were attending the camp were the kids of the people who bullied him. Now he wants to hijack the kids video games.
