Maui used his ancestor Murirangawhenua's jawbone for his line. Maui pulled up the North island by himself. Maui's canoe is the South island. Maui's mother cut off her hair and put Maui in it when he was just a baby. She then threw him into the ocean and that's how Maui became a demi god. Then many years later Maui found his mother and his bothers by turning into a bird and flying across the country to find them.
Hey Makaea,
ReplyDeleteYou have done week 1 activities! The posts were hard for me to find because they were hidden in the November folder.
First of all, I love how you have included a colourful picture of Maui! He looks very strong and courageous! Would you have described him differently?
It's a really good idea to include pictures, videos, drawings, or sound clips to support your work and ideas! Well done Makaea!
It's awesome to see your 3 facts about Maui from the 'Maui and the Giant Fish' story. Did you read any other myths and legends about Maui? I read one about how Maui brought fire to the world and it was very interesting for me because the fire goddess gave Maui her fingernails for fire!
I love reading your posts so keep uploading and get involved! :)
Happy holidays,
Jade C.
