  • Rawiri Paratene, director of the Maori Troilus and Cressida, said the play translated well because "the classical Maori language is very poetic, very bawdy, very prosaic - it's got all the different forms of the language that Shakespeare uses."

    I realLy like the way you focus on the beautiful translation Of "Troilus and Cressida"- a 16th century English play into Maori. "The haunting chants remind me of Trish keening -a traditional form of vocal lament for the dead."
