Political Poster

For power to the people, my task was to make a political poster about Abraham Lincoln. I used a quote from the Gettysburg Address.

Kiwi Bakers - Savouries

Kiwi Bakers - Savouries

This week in cooking we had the choice to make either a sweet pastry item or a savoury pastry item. For the sweet pastry it was apple turnovers and for savoury pastry we made egg scrolls.

Ingredients:
Puff pastry
Egg
milk
other items of your choice (ham, cheese, ect.)

We first collected the ingredients needed and others that we wanted. After whisking the egg and milk together we were allowed to cut the puff pastry out to put into the tray. We somehow had enough puff pastry to cut out 12 scrolls. We then filled the scrolls with egg, cheese, ham and corn. Then we put it into the oven for about 15 minutes. They were very delicious when they were finished.

Kiwi Baker - Pikelets

Kiwi Baker - Pikelets

This week in cooking we made pikelets.

Ingredients:
Flour
Egg
Milk
Baking Powder
Butter
Sugar

We first collected the ingredients needed to make the pikelets. We sifted the flour and baking powder into a large bowl. Separately in a different bowl we beat together the egg and sugar together until it was a pale yellow. Then added the mixture to the dry ingredients. After all the ingredients were combined we were ready to make the pikelets. We heated up the non-stick pan onto the stove top. We put a little cube of butter into the pan and let it melt. Then we started to make the pikelets. At the end they were very good to eat even though some of then were burnt.

Kiwi Baker - Choc Chip Cookies

Kiwi Baker - Choc Chip Cookies

Today in cooking we made Chelsea chocolate chip cookies.

Ingredients:
White Sugar
Brown Sugar
Egg
Salt
Vanilla essence
Baking Powder
Flour
Chocolate Chip
Butter

First we had to collect the ingredients necessary for making the cookies. We melted the butter and creamed in together with both of the sugars. While creaming the mixture we combined all the dry ingredients together. Then when the wet mixture was fully creamed we added the egg and vanilla essence. Then we mixed the wet and dry ingredients together. After mixing and folding the ingredients together we rolled them out on the baking tray. We made sure that they were even. After they were done in the oven we tasted them they were nice. The cookies tasted different from coming right out of the oven than eating them later when they were a bit harder.
