Kiwi Baker - Cupcakes

Kiwi Baker - Cupcakes

In cooking we made cupcakes. First we needed to get all the ingredients prepared to make the cupcakes. Then we needed to bake them and freeze them till the next lesson to put icing on them. Getting the ingredients was pretty easy and went normally. We got the batter ready and put them into the tray ready to be put into the oven. But there was a problem the oven wasn't preheated. We didn't turn the oven on to preheat so the cupcakes took longer to bake. We put them in the oven and they didn't look like they were baking. Soon the bell rang and the cupcakes weren't done yet. So Miss Wheeler said she would finish them so we could go home.

The next lesson in cooking we were making the icing and putting it on our cupcakes. Our group chose to make blue vanilla flavoured icing. Some of our cupcakes had big gaping holes in the middle of them. But we chose to use that as part of the design. For the cupcakes with holes we hid some m&ms inside the cupcake. Putting icing over top it to make it hidden. The icing was pretty fun to play around with as were the sprinkles. Our cupcakes were delicious.

Something I would do next time is to make sure that the oven is preheating when we need it to be. Other then that I would say that there isn't really anything else to change.

  1. Hi Makaea
I agree the cupcakes look very cool, the blue icing looks good with the chocolate sprinkles. I am pleased you have put in a photo of them.
You would never know the cakes had a few holes in them!
Looking forward to seeing you back at school.
